Kayaking Details

FYI, a few more details about our kayaking outing on Saturday morning. The boat house opens at 8, and I'd recommend we go then to beat the heat and the lines. Cost is $8/hour for a single kayak and $10/hour for a double. An hour or so is probably plenty for novices. As for age limitations, Thompson Boat House says their only rule is that an adult has to rent the boats. They suggested 10 and unders ride in a double with an adult. And they said under-5 kids can sit in the lap of an adult, if they fit. So you could actually put three people in a double. Think about whether you want to bring your kids. The boat house also rents canoes for $8/hour and sunfish for $10/hour. Someone please remind me that the guy asked me to call a day ahead to give them a little warning to be ready for a big group.

  1. How do you you think I would do in a three man kayak? I'm up for anything if I can get down in it. Grandma
