Guess who went to the Evening Parade tonight?

Barack and Michelle Obama!
I told you it's a cool thing to do.
Too bad he didn't wait just one week to go with us!

Yippee! Double Yippee!!

Two pieces of great news:

--Annie is back on the list. She'll hop in the car with Mary and Ram, and come down on Sunday.
--Lala's mom has her visa, and will definitely be joining us for the reunion.

By The Numbers, updated

We've had quite a few comings and goings from the reunion roster. So here's an update. Looks like 27 adults and 20 kids. Here's the kids' breakdown by age:
0-4: 7
5-9: 10
10-up: 3

A new Capitol tour option

Senator Hatch's office felt bad that we couldn't get a White House tour, so they're offering us 40 slots for a Capitol tour on Saturday at 2:10. We'll have to consider whether that's better than the Monday afternoon option...

Adieu Allreds

Alas, the Allreds won't be able to join us after all. We will keep some extra seats handy just in case their car inexplicably points East instead of West when they leave Nauvoo!

Two Cheers for Rosario!!

Happy to report that Rosario Abril got good news from the Philipino government today -- her visa to travel to the U.S. has been approved. So hopefully she will be able to travel in time to join us for the reunion. Lala is thrilled her mother will be able to come to the wedding.

Good News, Bad News

The good news is that all our tickets for the Evening Parade are now confirmed. I was getting nervous about that.
The bad news is that it looks like a no-go on the White House, even though we put in our requests months ago. My congressman says that 1 percent of tour requests are being approved these days, due to high demand. My senator said the White House has had to deny more than 750,000 tour requests during the past several months.
Oh well, it's still fun to see the outside.
